This last weekend was a complete whirlwind with ups, downs, crashes, and excitement, but looking back on it all I wouldn't have wanted it to go any better. I was in the X games, I did really well, and the team completely succeeded in our goal to get as much exposure in front of the live audience as possible. I can't describe the feeling of actually making it in X games, and even leading a race at one point, but maybe this chance to give a race report will clue you in on exactly what I was feeling!
We got there around 12:00 Thursday barely in time to park the truck but made and parked next to the Geico Honda team. We unloaded and set up the canopy and then got the opportunity to go walk around and watch X games (which I have only seen once) and it was a lot of fun! I had an athlete's pass while Ryan and Megan had media passes so we could go pretty much everywhere and do whatever. They had an athletes' lounge with loads of free food and I couldn't resist so I had 3 plates of food which was way too much and I was super full for the rest of the day! We ended up watching Freestyle, Speed & Style, Bmx-Vert and Skateboard Big air.
On Sunday morning I woke up around 7:30 and went to the gym and met with my trainer Jason for some prep talk and stretching. When we arrived, we snuck up to the top floor of the arena and got to take a sneak peak of the track which eased my nerves a little bit and got me excited that X games was finally here! When it was time to put my gear on I was so excited to put everything on I had new boot decals, helmet and jersey made just for X games! – Thanks to Jett Boots, Tagger Designs, and Dirt Digits for getting everything so clean looking in time for the big show!
The X Games were a blast, and I had pretty good results concidering I missed the first practice, and I was the only rider that didnt get to practice going down that Ramp.
I will have a full race report up soon, but in case you missed the action, here is the links to both of the races i was in. I took 4th in my heat race, and just missed qualifying for the main by one possition in the LCQ. Either way it was a good start to the 2011 EX season, because I proved that I can run with the pace of the top 10. I earned enough points to put me at 11th overall, and I am now leading the Jr EX Championship for 2012.
Until I get my race report up, enjoy these videos on my two races, these are the clips that ESPN showed live last night from X games 17.
I was seeded in Heat race 2, my strategy was to let everyone else go down off the start and just try to make as many passes as possible.

Well were finally here, and pretty much everyone is ready to get this show on the road. If you're planning to come down on Sunday to watch the Enduro X event here are a few points to note.
Your ticket for Enduro X is only good for the Enduro X event. Don't come too early and expect to see other events. Each event has its own ticket here at X, and pretty much everything that isn't in the Staples Center is sold out.
The X fest is pretty cool, there is a Navy Simulator and a couple other things to see, but realistically it can be done in about an hour. Also, there is a big convention going on here at the LA convention center, so traffic is pretty bad all around, but come on… its Downtown LA!
After watching Nate Adams take the Gold last night, I think I might have a few good moves come the Enduro X event!
We are parked up in the EX pit parking lot, but it is not open to the public. I will be back and forth between the pits and the X Fest on Sunday, so keep your eyes open and say hi.
I have some awesome Jacob911 pins to hand out, as well as posters if anyone is interested, just look for Ryan, Ed, or myself and we will get you a whole bunch.
As for the schedule of events? There really isn't much of one yet. We don't know how much practice we are going to get, and I'm not really sure how the hot laps are going to work. We have a meeting tomorrow at 1 PM, and from there we might know a little bit more. I'll try to get some stuff up on the site, but check out both mine, and Ryan Sanders Facebook for quicker updates on what is going on here.
Remember, Doors open at 4, but plan to be here much earlier than that depending on what your intentions are.
SEE YOU AT X GAMES!

I met my dad at home for lunch today after the gym, while Ed was supposed to be in the garage working on the 250F so I could get one more day of practice in before X Games this weekend, and while we were sitting with my mom eating sandwiches from Jersey Mikes, Ed come up and said we had a problem with the race bike. My dad and I went running down stairs to the garage to see what the problem was, and this is what we found sitting there waiting for us.
John from Kawasaki of Simi Valley has surprised us and ordered a 2012 EFI 250F for me to race the 2011 EX season on! We had planned to stick with the old bike, but with a little bit of help from Ed, John was able to have the bike waiting for us, without even knowing it was coming!
Here is a press release about what it is going to take to get this bike finished for the weekends festivities, and if your out at Glen Helen tomorrow, you might just get to see me out on the track with my new 2012!

Hopefully by this point you have heard the fantastic news that I have been invited to participate in the 2011 ESPN X-Games Seventeen here in Los Angeles, California.
This is probably the biggest opportunity that I have had in my racing career so far. This coming Sunday, July 31, 2011 I hope to show everyone what I am capable of. We will be bringing the entire Off Road Support Team, and I have family coming in from across the country.
My sponsors have truly stepped up and made this dream a reality for me with their continued support. Jason, my trainer, and I completely change the workout up for the EX season. At this point, the strength is important, but I basically need to have the ability to go 100 miles per hour for about 8 minutes at a time. Then I need my body to recover as quickly as possible, so I can do it all over again, maybe 15 or 20 minutes later. Our work out schedule has been designed to reflectthat, and every time I get on the track, I try to ride like I am in a moto. Just get my body used to getting worked really hard, with a short recovery between each ride. After the Last Dog Standing event, and really before as well, we just try and get a good two days of Moto and EX a week. We alternate between a few different tracks in So Cal.
I am really hoping to be a top 10 this year at Endurocross, and I know that it all starts with Round 1 at X Games! The event schedule. If you're at the X games Come by the Off Road Support Pits and pick up one of my Jacob911 pins!

Spotted spooning at the Black Hill Zoo in Deutschland. The small clawed otters couldn't keep their paws off each other.

This last weekend my family and I headed up to Taft for Round One of the Big 6 Grand Prix Series. I am going to miss most of these rounds this year, so it was really just more for fun but it ended up being a great weekend!
Check this out to see a few photos by Shane Sands from ridevector.com
I ended up getting three races in on Saturday, and we left early Sunday morning as both my dad and I got food poisening—I got the coconut shrimp at a dicy restaurant; it was my fault.
The Dirt Diggers did an awsome job on the course prep, and their enthusiasm showed in every little bit of the race course! The unclassified race was fun as I kinda just took some time to learn the lines and see where I could really push it durring my actual race.
In the second race, the Open Expert Race, I finally got the start that I have been waiting for all year. My bike lit first kick, and I was off literally in front of everyone who has been getting great starts on me all year. Colton Sanders and his E-start still got the jump on me, but we were 1-2 through the first few turns.

Round one of the National Hare and Hound Series went just about as good as could be this last weekend. I feel like all of the months of preparation, and everything that Ed, my dad, and Tuner have done in the garage have paid off, and I am proud to say that I got myself and all of my sponsors on the podium for the second time this year.
With a ten round series that has no throw outs, it's important to get as many points as possible as soon as possible. The goal this weekend was to get on the podium, and with the start that I got it almost didn't look like it was going to happen. But, I knew that it was going to be a long race, and anything could happen as the race wore on.
